100 grams of Apple contains just 50 cal. and it doesn’t contain saturated fats are cholesterol. Apple is rich in dietary fibre which prevents absorption of LDL or bad cholesterol in the gut.

Apples are rich in antioxidant, phytonutrients, flavonoids and polyphenolics. Important flavonoids in Apple are quercetin, epicatechin, and procyanidin B2. These compounds help the body from adverse effects of free radicals.

It contains vitamin C and beta-carotene. Vitamin C is a powerful natural antioxidant which helps the body to develop resistance against infectious agents and harmful pro-inflammatory free radicals in the body.
